Why don't the books tell you that babies sometimes cry for no reason at all? It seems that the reputable resources I've been reading, and the ones most recommended, all say something to the effect of this: IF baby cries, she might need changing, feeding, be gassy, etc. There's always a reason for her to be crying. But what if she's simply crying because she's a baby? Apparently babies do that. So I'm not a bad mother because I can't figure out how to make it stop. And when I give up trying, then she cries for 2 more agonizing minutes--and then stops all on her own. Yep. Sometimes babies just need to cry.
That's not to say that I don't do everything in my power to try and solve the reason for her crying. Of course, I have no way of knowing, since I still haven't figured out what her cries mean. Where is the baby whisperer by the way? That's probably best left for another day.
